Stronghold Games Timer Released
We mentioned this before the holiday break, and now the Stronghold Games Timer is here. This app supports (or will support) any game from Stronghold Games that needs a timer. Currently, it supports Space Cadets and Article 27: The UN Security Council Game and will support any other future Stronghold Games that use a timer mechanism. For Space Cadets, the app completely replaces the Captain Display, stepping players through the turn and allows for tracking of Nemesis. For Article 27, it is a 5 minute timer for each negotiation round. The app also includes a generic timer that can be used for any game with a timer. The Stronghold Games Timer is for iOS Universal, is FREE, and is available on the App Store.

Kairn (aka Caveman Curling) Updated to Version 2.0.0
Forgenext has released an update for their iOS version of Caveman Curling. Version 2.0.0 of Kairn introduces asynchronous multiplayer via Game Center as well as the ability to zoom on the target before playing your turn. Kairn is for iOS Universal, costs $0.99USD and is available on the App Store. This game is available for Android as well, but it doesn't appear that it has been updated on Google Play. If I'm wrong, let me know in the comments!

Reiner Knizia's Kingdoms Updated
Skotos Tech, Inc. has updated their iOS Universal version of Reiner Knizia's Kingdoms to version 1.60. This update includes some free enhancements as well as some new IAP as well. Here's the deal:

• Wider display for iPhone5.
• Improved look and feel including a new background.
• 12 new achievements.
• Option for shorter 1-round play.
• Larger board and mountain-filled large board with IAP.
• Zombie horde and monument tiles with IAP.

Reiner Knizia's Kingdoms costs $3.99USD and is available on the App Store.

Panzer Corps Coming to iOS in 2013
The Lordz Games Studioposted that their upcoming port of Panzer Corps for iPad should be arriving sometime in Q1-Q2 of 2013. Panzer Corps is published by Slitherine Software, the same guys who publish Battle Academy. Battle Academy has cross-platform multiplayer and a famously hefty (for iOS) pricetag. Will Panzer Corps follow in those footsteps? Owen at Pockettactics asks a good question as well, how will Panzer Corps stack up against Battle of the Bulge which showed a remarkable amount of polish and an amazing iPad-centric UI?

Abalone Clone "Appalone" Hits the App Store
Developer Dieter Steiner has released an (as far as I can tell) unlicensed version of the abstract Abalone, called Appalone. This version can handle 2-6 players and allows for adjustable size boards. There is no AI or online multiplayer. This app is meant to sit on a table and be played much like the physical game, face-to-face. Appalone is for iOS Universal, costs $0.99USD and is available on the App Store.

HROOGAR With Friends Released
BGG User and app developer hylmes sent us a note that his new turn-based fantasy board game app, HROOGAR with Friends has been released. HROOGAR is a turn-based, multiplayer only (no AI) game in which heroes traverse the countryside, level-up and find loot with the winner being the first to kill the dragon located at the top corner of the map. The game currently only has real-time multiplayer via Game Center with asynchronous multiplayer coming in a future update. You can also play via pass-and-play. There is IAP for a "25 Buck Package", so I'm not sure if that means you can pay to win or not, but IAP in a multiplayer only game could be a red flag. That said, the game is currently on sale for FREE, so it can't hurt to try it out. HROOGAR is for iOS Universal and is available in the App Store.
