We held our annual New Year's Eve party. We had three other couples, plus one single guy. So a total of nine adults and three children who pretty much stayed out of the way. Throw in 2-4" of wet snow and we had the makings of a party. We had copious amounts of alcohol and snack foods on hand. We played Tsuro (great game. Easy to learn and anyone can play), the Pirates of the Caribbean version of Liar's Dice and a game called Match Mate. The last game was a twist on the dating game question and answer theme. Fun, but somewhat embarrassing at times.
All in all, it was a grand time. I had bought three jugs of microbrew beer (a porter, a winter ale and an oatmeal stout) that went down smoothly. My buddy had brought over a couple bottles of aged rye and bourbon whiskeys that were warming on an otherwise cold night.
That, in my opinion, is a great start to the new year!
