The Walking Dead is a good show in general, but Season 2 was very slow. Season 3 is much better.
I have been reading the comic series for the last 10 years and think that the show is a good adaptation.
I read "I am legend" a few times, it's one of my all time sci-fi favorites. And I hated that movie. Watch The last man on Earth instead, it's a rather faithful adaptation.
Nevertheless: have fun! ;)
