I mentioned in a previous post that I had purchased a set of "HeroScape Imposters" on eBay, and would post a picture when they arrived. They actually came in last week, but I'm just now finding time to do so:

Glass half empty:
The cards aren't very well done; they are printed with an inkjet, and apparently one that could use maintenance. The Samuel Brown card is substantially larger than the others, and the cuts are done with scissors; roughly the right angles but noticeably off if placed on a stack with real cards. Also, it's not apparent at the angle from which I took that picture, but one of the pegs stick too far through the base of the Master Woo figure, and it doesn't sit level.

Glass half full:
$29.99 for playable versions of three of the most difficult to obtain figures in HeroScape. When playing the game, I'm sure I won't notice that the poses differ from the legit figures, and better quality cards can't be all that difficult to produce. I'll try my hand at printing my own if it bugs me.

When the package arrived, I was mildly disappointed, but not enough to make a fuss. I gave the seller positve (if not effusive) feedback, then dropped him a line telling him I'd done so, but noting why I wasn't more enthusiastic in my comments. He replied, telling me that he knows about the size problem with the Samuel Brown card (which he says is due to the image on HeroScapers being 4% larger than standard), and said he would send me a replacement for Woo in the near future. I thought that was decent of him, especially he knew feedback wasn't hanging in the balance.

All in all, I'd say that I would recommend him to bargain hunters who would like to add the Imposter figures to their collections. I don't think I would recommend the repaint sets he sells with the figures in the proper poses for $79.99, though. I assume that the poses would be the only difference, and I'd want better paint jobs and better cards at that price.
