Do you play so that attacks can be made ONLY in straight lines, or so that any space within two squares can be hit? For instance, would the archer ("0") be able to hit the target ("x")? Being very strict about the language in the rules, I could understand saying "no", however, I feel it's very counterintuitive, since an archer (in real life) can shoot the same distance in any direction; this would represent turning slightly to shoot as opposed to a full 45º.
